20 Dinge, die man in Los Angeles nicht verpassen sollte
Ihr seid zum ersten Mal in der Stadt der Engel und ihr wisst gar nicht so genau wo ihr anfangen sollt mit eurer Entdeckungstour? Kein Problem! Ich habe euch 20 Dinge aufgelistet, welche ihr in Los Angeles definitiv erleben solltet.
This is your first time in the city of angels and you don’t know exactly where to start your discovery tour? No problem! I’ve listed 20 things you should definitely do in Los Angeles.
1 | Fahrrad fahren von Venice Beach nach Santa Monica [Rent a bike]
Fahrrad fahren am Venice Beach – ganz klar ein Klassiker! Also leiht euch ein Rad aus und fährt entlang der wundervollen Strände Los Angeles.

2 | Wanderung zum Wisdom Tree [Hike to the Wisdom Tree]
Wandern in den Hollywood Hills stand bei unserem 4. Besuch in L.A. ganz oben auf dem Plan. Ein Erlebnis welches wir nur empfehlen können, um dem Trubel der Stadt einmal zu entfliehen. Nach ca. 40 min erreicht ihr den Gipfel und den berühmten „Wisdom Tree“. Gleich nebenan wurde als Andenken an die Opfer des 11. Septembers eine amerikanische Flagge aufgestellt.
Hiking in the Hollywood Hills was at the top of our agenda during our 4th visit to L.A.. An experience we can only recommend to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. After about 40 minutes you will reach the summit and the famous „Wisdom Tree“. In addition, an American flag was set up in memory of the victims of September 11.
3 | Universal Studios
Bereits zum 3. Mal haben wir die Universal Studios besucht und haben keinen einzigen Aufenthalt davon bereut. Vor allem das neu erbaute Harry Potter Themengebiet, ist mit wahnsinnig viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und lässt so manches Fanherz höher schlagen. Des Weiteren befinden sich in den Studios Attraktionen zu Jurassic Park, die Mumie, Transformers oder den Simpsons.
Already for the 3rd time we visited the Universal Studios and did not regret a single stay. Especially the newly built Harry Potter themed area is designed with an incredible attention to detail and makes many a fan’s heart beat faster. The studios also offer attractions to Jurassic Park, the Mummy, Transformers or the Simpsons.

4 | In&Out
Ein absoluter Klassiker und Muss, wenn man in Kalifornien ist. Probiert neben den leckeren Burgern auch gerne die Pommes im „Animal Style“ aus.
An absolute classic and a must when you are in California. In addition to the delicious burgers, you also have to try the „Animal Style“ fries
5 | Sonnenuntergang am Santa Monica Pier / Achterbahn fahren [Sunset at Santa Monica Pier / roller coaster ride]
Definitiv einer meiner Lieblingsorte für einen Sonnenuntergang in Los Angeles, welcher sich auch perfekt mit einer kleinen Achterbahnfahrt auf dem Santa Monica Pier vereinbaren lässt.
Definitely one of my favorite places for a sunset in Los Angeles, which can also be perfectly combined with a little roller coaster ride on the Santa Monica Pier.
6 | Skateboard fahren/Skaterpark – Venice Beach
Wem Fahrradfahren zu langweilig ist, kann sich auch gerne ein Skateboard ausleihen und entlang der Strandpromenade fahren. Die echten Profis treffen sich derweil immer im berühmten Skaterpark von Venice Beach, wo sie vor unzähligen Touristen ihre Tricks und Künste zeigen.
If cycling is too boring for you, you can also rent a skateboard and ride along the beach promenade. Meanwhile, the real pros always meet in the famous skater park of Venice Beach, where they show their tricks and skills to countless tourists.
7 | Manhattan Beach
Wer von euch wusste eigentlich, dass der Großteil der Serie O.C. California am Manhattan Beach gedreht wurde und nicht wie viele denken in Newport Beach? Ein weiterer Grund um dem Manhattan Beach definitiv einen Besuch abzustatten und den ganzen Touristenmassen wie am Venice Beach und in Santa Monica zu entkommen.
Who of you knew that most of the O.C. California series was shot on Manhattan Beach and not how many people think in Newport Beach? Another reason to visit Manhattan Beach and escape the crowds of tourists like Venice Beach and Santa Monica.
8 | Griffith Observatory
Ein weiterer Lieblingsort meinerseits in Los Angeles ist das Griffith Observatory, welches nicht nur den besten Ausblick über die komplette Stadt bietet, sondern auch neben dem Santa Monica Pier mein Lieblingsplatz für Sonnenuntergänge ist.
Another favorite place in Los Angeles is the Griffith Observatory, which not only offers the best view over the entire city, but is also my favorite spot for sunsets next to the Santa Monica Pier.
9 | Durch Beverly Hills/West Hollywood fahren [driving through Beverly Hills/West Hollywood]
Wer beeindruckende Villen und Straßen mit unendlich vielen Palmen sehen möchte, ist in Beverly Hills und West Hollywood an der richtigen Stelle.
If you want to see impressive villas and streets with endless palm trees, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood is the place to be.
10 | Runyon Canyon
Sportbegeisterte Personen kommen nicht nur am Strand auf ihre Kosten, sondern können auch direkt mitten in der Stadt wandern oder Rennen gehen. Nur zwei Blocks vom lebhaften Hollywood Boulevard entfernt, befindet sich der Runyon Canyon, wo man mehrere Wander- und Laufstrecken absolvieren kann, um sich fit zu halten und dem Trubel der Stadt zu entkommen.
Sports enthusiasts can not only enjoy the beach, but can also hike or race right in the middle of the city. Just two blocks from the lively Hollywood Boulevard you can find the Runyon Canyon, where you can do several walking and running routes to keep you fit and escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
11 | Salt & Straw
Das beste Eis der Stadt gibt es in Venice bei Salt&Straw. Besonders zu empfehlen ist Seasalt Caramel.
The best ice cream in town is in Venice at Salt&Straw. Seasalt Caramel is particularly recommended.
12 | Walk of Fame/Rodeo Drive
Definitiv nicht der erste Ort, den ich empfehlen würde wenn man in Los Angeles ist, da dieser einfach mit Touristen überlaufen ist. ABER er bleibt ein absolutes Muss, wenn auch nur für 20 Minuten im Leben.
Definitely not the first place I would recommend if you’re in Los Angeles, as it’s just crowded with tourists. BUT an absolute must, even if only for 20 minutes in life.
13 | „Get Crazy in a Target“
Wer schon einmal in einem Target war, weiß wie großartig dieser Hypermarkt ist. Tausende Regale mit unzähligen Dingen, die man braucht oder auch nicht braucht.
Anyone who has ever been to a Target knows how great this place is. Thousands of shelves with countless things you Need and don’t need.
14 | Wanderung zum Hollywood Zeichen [Hike to the Hollywood sign]
Wer in Los Angeles ist, kommt auch nicht am berühmten Hollywood Zeichen vorbei. Eine Wanderung bis zu diesem lohnt sich definitiv auch und können wir nur empfehlen.
If you’re in Los Angeles, you won’t get past the famous Hollywood sign. A hike to this is definitely worth it!

15 | Streetart/Wallart
In Los Angeles gibt es nicht nur Einiges zu erleben, sondern es ist auch eine perfekte Stadt, um ein paar schöne Erinnerungsbilder zu machen und diese dann auf Instagram zu teilen. Perfekt hierfür eignen sich die unzähligen Wallarts, welche in der Stadt verstreut sind.
Not only is there a lot to do in Los Angeles, but it’s also a perfect city to take some nice souvenir pictures and then share them on Instagram. The countless wall arts, which are scattered throughout the city, are perfect for this.

16 | Surfen [Surfing]
Direkt am Venice Beach hatte ich 2015 die aller erste Surfstunde in meinem Leben. Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass es sich als so unglaublich anstrengend herausstellen wird, aber es war großartig und ich würde es immer wieder machen.
Right on Venice Beach I had my very first surfing lesson in my life in 2015. I never thought it would turn out to be so incredibly tiring, but it was great and I would do it again and again.
17 | Mit einem Motorgleiter über L.A. fliegen [Flying over L.A. on a motor glider]
Um Los Angeles von oben zu sehen, muss man nicht unbedingt mit einem Helikopter fliegen. 2015 hatte ich meinem Freund einen Flug mit einem Motorgleiter geschenkt, wo er die Möglichkeit hatte die Stadt von oben zu sehen und sogar den Motorgleiter für ein paar Minuten selbst zu fliegen.
Ein Flug vor Sonnenuntergang lohnt sich besonders, da man hier die Möglichkeit hat, die Stadt bei Tageslicht und bei Nacht zu erleben.
To see Los Angeles from above, you don’t necessarily have to fly in a helicopter. In 2015 I had given my boyfriend a flight with a motor glider, where he had the opportunity to see the city from above and even fly the motor glider himself for a few minutes. A flight before sunset is especially worthwhile, as you have the opportunity to see the city in daylight and at night.
18 | Nach Sonnenuntergang durch Downtown L.A. fahren [After sunset, driving through downtown L.A.]
Eine meiner persönlich liebsten Momente, wenn wir abends von Hollywood zurück zu unserer Unterkunft in El Segundo gefahren sind – durch Downtown L.A. fahren! Alle Gebäude sind beleuchtet und jeder, der diesen Anblick jetzt vor Augen hat, weil er es selbst schon einmal erlebt hat, weiß wovon ich spreche.
One of my personally favorite moments when we drove back from Hollywood to our accommodation in El Segundo – driving through downtown L.A.! All buildings are illuminated and everyone who now has this sight before his eyes, because he has already experienced it himself, knows what I am talking about.
19 | Urban Lights
Die Anreihung von mehr als 200 Laternen kann man kaum übersehen, wenn man entlang des Wilshire Blvd fährt. Besonders am Abend, wenn alle Laternen beleuchtet sind, lohnt es sich besonders einen kurzen Stop einzulegen.
The row of more than 200 street lights can hardly be overlooked when driving along Wilshire Blvd. Especially in the evening, when all of them are illuminated, it is especially worthwhile to make a short stop.
20 | The Grove
Ein weiterer Punkt der sich meiner Meinung nach in Los Angeles mehr abends, anstatt tagsüber lohnt ist: The Grove eine Art Einkaufstrasse, welche ein bisschen an Disneyland oder die Universal Studios erinnert. Überall gibt es kleine Läden, wo man die Möglichkeit hat etwas shoppen zu gehen oder dass ein oder andere Restaurant um etwas zu essen. Der Springbrunnen im Zentrum der Einkaufsstraße ist am Abend ebenfalls schön beleuchtet und es findet ein sehenswertes Wasserspiel statt.
Another point that I think is more worth to see in Los Angeles in the evening than during the day. The Grove is a kind of shopping street that reminds a bit of Disneyland or Universal Studios. Everywhere there are small shops, where you have the possibility to go shopping or that one or the other restaurant to eat something. The fountain in the centre of the shopping street is also beautifully illuminated in the evening and a water feature takes place.
